Get up to $500 toward your dental care

The DAV Dental Compensation Assistance Program helps veterans cover the cost of dental work when the VA can’t. Up to $500 in financial assistance is paid directly to your dentist – never to you in cash – so every dollar goes to your treatment.

“We are proud to serve those who served.” East Valley Chapter 8 has been helping Arizona veterans navigate dental and other benefit gaps for years, and this program is one more way we honor that mission.

What the program is

The program is offered by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) & Auxiliary, East Valley Chapter 8 in Mesa. It was created for veterans who aren’t 100% disabled, who don’t qualify for the VA Dental Care program, and for whom paying for dental work out of pocket would be a real financial hardship.

At Brown Road Dental, we’re proud to serve veterans in our community, and we want you to know this option exists.

The DAV Dental Compensation Assistance Program is run by Disabled American Veterans & Auxiliary, East Valley Chapter 8, independently of Brown Road Dental. Eligibility, coverage and approval are determined by DAV and are not guaranteed. Program details may change, so please confirm current requirements with the chapter at (480) 890-2424.

Who may qualify

The program may be a fit if all of these describe you:
  • You are a U.S. military veteran with documented service history.
  • You are not 100% disabled.
  • You are not eligible for VA Dental Care.
  • Paying for dental care right now would be a financial hardship.
DAV membership is helpful but you don’t have to be a member to ask. If you’re unsure, call the chapter and they’ll explain how to join.

What it may cover

  • Routine cleanings, fillings and extractions
  • Dentures, partials and repairs
  • Crowns, root canals and other restorative work
  • Other dental needs, reviewed case by case

How payment works

Once your application is approved, DAV sends payment directly to your dentist’s office. You never receive the funds in cash. Assistance is up to $500 per veteran, per approved request.

How to apply

Applications go to DAV Chapter 8, not to our office. Here’s the process in six steps.

01.

Get the application form

02.

Fill in your half

Include your name, address, phone, date of birth, branch of service, dates of service and DAV membership status.

03.

Get a written estimate from your dentist

Ask for an estimate or receipt on the practice’s letterhead with your name on it. Our team can help with this at your visit.

04.

Gather your documents

You’ll need your DD-214 (Member 4) or VA Medical Card, plus the dentist’s estimate showing the practice name and phone number.

05.

Describe your hardship

Write a few sentences about why you need help paying for dental care right now.

06.

Submit and wait for approval

Bring or mail everything to the chapter office. If approved, payment goes straight to your dentist.
